Specifique was established in France by Petter Engelstad and Eric Parendel in 1990. The company has since been busy establishing a global network, perfecting their tools and developing new solutions to meet the needs of their clients.

The most recent expansion of Specifique involves the opening of Specifique Singapore in 2005, and Specifique Sweden in 2006.
